We read about this restaurant located in Ubud at the beginning of 2004. During a visit to Ubud in April we literally stumbled across this tiny little establishment while out shopping one day. The name seemed familiar then we remembered having read the glowing review . Well what a find. We started by ordering a Mango juice and a Pineapple juice. Nothing out of the bottle here. The fresh mangos and pineapple where peeled chopped and put into a blender, minutes later the most delicious cold fruit juice possible. (Availability of some fresh fruit will be seasonal. Being in the middle of the day we did not want anything to heavy for lunch so just ordered two bowls of Laksa. The kitchen located at the back of the restaurant is quite open so we were able to watch the making of this delicious meal. Every ingredient was freshly ground, chopped, and cooked as we watched. The aromas coming from the kitchen were magnificent and the finished Laksa was the best we had eaten anywhere in the world including Thailand.

We returned to Baliku on our next trip in September and to our dismay discovered that they had changed the menu and Laksa was no more. We expressed our disappointment and were told “ No Problem “ we will make it for you. Once again all from scratch and all fresh ingredients and every bit as good as the first time. One word of warning… because everything is freshly prepared it does taking about 30 minutes for your meal to arrive. So sit back and relax, sip on your delicious fresh fruit juice and prepare your taste buds and wallet for a treat. The total cost of two juices, a water and two Laksa was only …39,000rupiah.
